Grammar and style checkers †

One of the reasons why I have self-taught more than 15 meta-languages or computer languages is that there is always a grammar checking programs or compiler that checks programming syntax. For an HTML programming or web authoring, one can have its syntax checked online, such as the following.

You would wonder if we have such programs for English compositions? Yes, there were a few choices on the market in the days of MS-DOS and early Macintosh days (around 1985). For ESL or EFL learners, however, such softwares were more or less found not so useful, for such learners tend to make so many local and incidental (偶発的) and idiosyncratic errors.

I mentioned how vocabulary use becomes a criterion for educational level.
