Apps vs. Web; The Fight for the future panel

  • The question is very basic and very simple. Should publishers and developers invest their money into native operating systems or into open cross-platform environments? With the recent heated debates around HTML 5 versus native platforms, and the rapid demise of some of the older operating systems, there has never been a more critical time to ask that question. In this session we look at the trade-offs and the likely economic environments that each of them will face.

    • Adam; All technology go on Web. But user should strong commitment for web application. This is accelerate web technology or HTML standard.
    • Krishna; Usability and monetization is key issue. Like games, location … API like that.
  • When web app take over native app?
    • IIJA; Anytime soon. Android games become big almost like PC game. Blowser base is more make sense for developer than native.
    • Jay; HTML5… Geo-location technology is not enogh. Web… search, discover, review…and so on. Web cannot support device base job like location or camera.
    • Michael; HTML5 base application is lighter than old web application. Smartphone, tablet all go to HTML5 app.
    • Adam; Of cource, HTML5 rap up all application but they use a parts of native program. So you cannot say all web application, all native application. Nore high power device come, it should push out old web app from the market.
    • Krishna; ATTI has native app and web app. Traffic is fifty fifty. Web are device fragmentation.
