Conclusion

In conclusion, we hope you can agree that English textbooks in Japan are not excellent, but getting better, in most points. First of all, as we mentioned in vocabulary and grammar section, students can learn more appropriate words and sentence structures for themselves, because those contents are well organized in today’s textbooks. On the other hands, it seems like there are not enough repetitions in order to make in possible for students to acquire. In addition, as Yosuke explained, the textbooks in today are basically well balanced, though, again, the amount of reading is somewhat smaller than expectation. Furthermore, when we looked from the view point of intercultural understanding, current textbooks provide very good information and motivation to the students. So, we can say that as the most particular characteristics of today’s textbooks is the regulation, in all of those points. In other words, it becomes more unified and integrated. We believe that the ideal textbook should be the one which can equalize the quality of the classes among the schools, and keep it at the higher standard. Thank you.
